Purposely, Lion’s Heart has few rules. Hopefully, the following will help with questions as they arise.
The Lion’s Heart “year” is from May 1st through April 30th.
Lion's Heart is not a fundraising organization.
Each member must perform at least 30 hours of community service per year; including 5 hours in “education.” (see “What is Community Service” on this website)
All hours must be logged onto the website before noon on April 30th of each year. Members who have not logged at least 30 hours, including 5 in education, will be ineligible for membership the following year.
Members must not miss more than three meetings a year. After missing the fourth meeting, the Member will be deemed "resigned." Each group is required to meet at least 8 times each year.
It is mandatory for each Group to hold a May meeting in which all officers are elected and, for existing groups, a Torchbearer Award recipient is voted on.
All officer positions are to be held for a one-year term, starting in May and ending on April 30th of each year. Elections for new officers will be the first meeting in May.
Dues for new members are $100 and for returning members are $50. Sorry, no refunds on dues unless a new Member does not get into a group because it’s full.
New members starting any time from May 1st through April 30th shall be required to pay dues of $100 and shall be required to perform 30 hours of community service with 5 hours in education. New members starting any time after August 1st shall be required to perform 15 hours of community service with 2 in education by April 30th. No other prorating of hours shall apply.
All Class Coordinators go through a criminal background check as part of Lion’s Heart insurance requirements.
There are no paid part time or full time employees.
