Refund, Liability and Privacy Policies
Refund Policy
There are no refunds on dues at any time unless a new Member does not get into a Lion’s Heart group (not necessarily a requested group) by August 1st of that year.
For renewing dues, a Member’s eligibility to renew membership also requires specific meeting attendance and logging in the required community service hours prior to noon April 30th. If a Member does not meet these requirements, the Class Coordinator will notify the Member and the Member will receive a full refund by August 1st of the same year. If a Member does not receive the refund by August 1st, they should email founders@lionsheartservice.org and include the Member’s name, chapter and group name.
If a Member meets all of the requirements to renew the Membership but elects to resign at any time, the dues are not refundable.
Refunds will be a credit on the credit card used.
Liability Release
By paying dues to Lion’s Heart you are hereby releasing Lion’s Heart and its Class Coordinators, Officers and Executives of all liability while performing volunteer work for Lion’s Heart.
EACH LION’S HEART MEMBER IS VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THESE ACTIVITIES WITH KNOWLEDGE OF ANY DANGER INVOLVED, AND AGREES TO ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS OF BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, WHETHER THOSE RISKS ARE KNOWN OR UNKNOWN.
Members are expected to act respectfully of others during Lion’s Heart meetings and volunteering. If the Class Coordinator feels a Member is not acting respectfully, that Member will be required to have a parent attend the next six meetings and all volunteering activities until the sixth meeting. If a parent is not in attendance at a meeting or during volunteering, the Member will not receive credit for attending that meeting nor be able to log in the volunteer time. If the Member continues to act inappropriately after the sixth meeting, the Member will be resigned from Lion’s Heart immediately.
By paying dues, parents and Members forever release Lion’s Heart, their respective directors, Class Coordinators, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, contractors, and representatives (collectively “Releasees”) from any and all actions, claims, or demands that I, my assignees, heirs, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives now have, or may have in the future, for injury, death, or property damage, related to (i) my participation in these activities, (ii) the negligence or other acts, whether directly connected to these activities or not, and however caused, by any Releasee, or (iii) the condition of the premises where these activities occur, whether or not I am then participating in the activities.
I also agree that I, my assignees, heirs, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives will not make a claim against, sue, or attach the property of any Releasee in connection with any of the matters covered by the foregoing release.
I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS AGREEMENT AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT BETWEEN MYSELF AND LION’S HEART AND AGREE TO IT OF MY OWN FREE WILL.
If Signed by Parent or Guardian: I verify that the dangers of the activities and the significance of this Release and Waiver were explained to the Participant and that the Participant understood them.
